WEEK FOUR

Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.

You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.

However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.

That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.

Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.

Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

[It's a totally normal occurrence!

Owen looks him over for a moment, before deeming him not much of a threat. There's something odd about him, but, well. Back to business. He was in the middle of something.

The red-haired knight didn't have much of a chance against Owen. Several centuries too young with magic he's never used... He can't stop Owen from grabbing his face and using his other hand to press at his left eye and pull. The eye comes free from its socket with no effort, Owen laughing softly to himself. The knight, for what it's worth, only reacts with only a hiss of pain.

Owen looks the eye over for a moment, releasing the redhead. He still can't move, stuck in place with Owen's magic, but he holds it up, shifting towards Flat.]

How do you think I would look with a yellow eye?

[ wow... big ~*yikes*~. even that's a little much for flat, who doesn't really understand what the hell he just walked into aside a couple theories floating in his head. perhaps a marriage dispute?

either way, when this owen shows flat the eye, he can't help but to tilt his head to the side, his hands on his hips as he genuinely considers the question. ]

Why do you want the yellow eye? Are your eyes bad?

Do I need a reason to want it?

[Because, like.

He doesn't? He actually doesn't. It's just another whim of his he's acting on, and he considers the question for a moment. Meanwhile, Cain is here and he's suffering, but at least he's a wizard so he can tank it.]

I just do.

Well, that just seems like a waste of a good eye. What are you going to do with yours?

[ still... he knows that the current owen has a yellow eye, so wouldn't it be bad if he said no? what if things change drastically because of this!? wait, does it even have an effect on the current owen? ]

Wait...are you going to eat it?!

[cat no banana]

I'm not going to eat it. That would be a waste of a perfectly good talisman.

[He sighs, releasing the eye. Magic keeps it suspended in the air, at least, and he wipes his hand free of blood and viscera.]

I could give my own eye to the knight, I guess.

Oh, that would be nice, I guess...at least he won't be blind that way.

[ but... ]

Why take it in the first place?

Why not? I wanted to, so I did.

[That's. That's it. That's all the reason he's going to get. And it's not even that Owen's being cagey, that's... simply all there is to it.]

[ 'that is absolutely insane,' is what any normal person would say. ]

Ah, I see! That makes sense.

[ flat bobs his head in agreement. ]

How come that eye, though? There's many people out there, so why the knight? Are his eyes special to you?

[At least they're on the same page!]

Well, he's here, isn't he? Would you rather I take your eye instead? Maybe I can swap the two of you around.

Oh, no, please don't misunderstand!

[ he waves his hands in front of his chest, shaking his head. he needs his eyes! ]

I thought that he was your husband or something...those sorts of things are called... um... crimes of passion, I think! But if he just happened to be there, then that's just how it is. The fact that you're going to give him your eye as a replacement is very nice, too, so I don't see an issue with it.

[ poor cain. ]

We've never met before.

[poor cain indeed.............

Especially because he didn't get to pass out, he's still just watching all of this while Owen keeps him in place. Someone free him.]

So there's no passion here, but I guess I'll be nice after all.

[So with little fanfare, Owen reaches up and rips his eye out. There's no hesitation at all, or even any indication that it's something that caused Owen any pain. He pushes his eye into Cain's empty socket, before placing Cain's eye in its new home. Their magic will handle the rest.]

Aw, I see.

[ there's a hint of disappointment in flat's voice as he's told that. maybe owen would benefit from a little bit of passion; a little bit of pizzaz! still, he's not really one to judge, and if this is what the owen wants to do, then it's fine in his eyes.

he watches with little reaction as owen pulls out his eye, not disgusted or bothered in the least by the gore. that said, he does seem to keep his eyes on cain, observing him. ]

So you're using... it's not magecraft... some other sort of magical system. Are you two mages, sir?

[Maybe some day Owen will attack someone with passion... who could say.]

We're both wizards.

[Eye transfer over, Owen releases his hold on Cain, who staggers back. He's, uh. He's not doing so hot, and his new, red eye is darting around in its new socket entirely out of the knight's control if the way he holds a hand up to it and looks distressed is any indication.]

But I'm at least open about it.

Oh, wow, that's awesome! Do you fly on brooms?

[ hmm...well, he knows a little bit about the importance of secrecy, so maybe it wouldn't be the best thing to admit that he also has powers, but... ]

Can I try to heal him? He looks like he's in pain.

Yes.

[What kinda self-respecting wizard can't fly on brooms?

Cain grimaces, but he's not about to turn down free healing. Meanwhile, Owen.]

I don't care. Do whatever you want.
