04 - week four
WEEK FOUR
Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.
You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.
However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.
That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.
Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

OOC NOTE
OOC: Details on this week can be found here!
Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.
Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

[ That should be good enough, right? Hyunjung continues to lead him to the ballroom. It doesn't take long to get there. ]
Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late—
[ "Hyunny... Why did you bring a teacher??" ]
Huh?
[ Hyunjung looks at Sholmes for a moment and then back at his friends. ]
Age doesn't matter when it comes to dancing! He's probably a pro at the windmill like you guys said!

[Sholmes sure has experience boasting, but at the same time he's looking around, trying to gather information about exactly what kind of dance would fit best here, if they want a specific kind. He really needs to play along with the memory for a while, until he figures out the situation. May as well go all-in]

[ "Hyunny, you're only agreeing with him because he said big words..." ]
Shut up! I am not! You said that the person I'm bringing is a pro at doing the windmill! You can finish that off with an air chair spin, right?
[ He looks at Sholmes expectantly. This guy really seems to believe in Sholmes.
The ballroom has been cleared of tables and chairs that are all shoved to the side. There are many scuff marks on the laminated wooden floors, but also rubber mats and yoga mats laid out too. This is basically a breakdancing crew, but idk if Sholmes would know what that is ]

It's discourteous to demand such a move to someone else without proving you can do it yourself. I will even be merciful and acquiesce if one single person here can prove to be capable of it.
You doubted me, so it's only fair I doubt you all as well, my fellows.
[Trying to figure out what the deuce is an air chair spin by trying to get someone else to do it, pretty much]

So one does a windmill move and ends it with an air chair spin easily.
"Your move, pops." ]
He doesn't have to prove—

[Sholmes jumps a little in his place, loosening himself up. Thank goodness he has both strength in his upper body and dancing skill. He's not 100% sure he will be able to imitate what he saw, but at least...he won't fall on his face, he thinks.
But more than anything, someone putting faith on him means he must do all in his power to succeed. Looking like a fool is fine. Someone else looking like a fool because they believed in him is less fine]
Behold.
[And without further ado, Sholmes attempted to breakdance.
Well, he didn't manage to do a windmill. At best, this is a halo. Unable to bend his body enough, he had been unable to imitate what he saw, and instead, he was more upright than he should have been. Still, there was respectable momentum and it seemed Sholmes' experience with boxing had strengthened him enough to be able to spin on the upper part of his back without injuring himself.
The air chair spin at the end shook a little at the end, too -- despite everything, he was a tad dizzy from the spinning.
But all in all, it was almost miraculous he managed to imitate it somewhat instead of falling flat on his face]

"Hey, pops. That was actually pretty cool. Who knew you had it in you?!"
Despite it not being a total success, Sholmes seems to have won them over with sheer effort alone. Hyunjung even applauds. ]
You did great!

[Sholmes bows and turns around for a moment to take a breather while the room stops swaying. Oh goodness, this spinning dance was not the greatest idea he ever had, he hopes he doesn't have to try to do it again]
no subject
Here you go. That was amazing!
[ He sounds very genuine too.
"That was cool and all, but he's not the one we're waiting for. You should walk him back, Hyunny." ]
For the last time, I'm not Hyunny—
