04 - week four

WEEK FOUR

Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.

You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.

However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.

That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.

Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.

Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

[ ...honestly he should have known better than to say something like that in this place. There's no verbal response but Kawase does roll over to give Rideaux a proper view of the wound. His shirt is already conveniently ripped in shreds, so there's that.

The wound, a long gash from right below his ribcage, angled down to his abdomen is neat all things considered, though it's immediately obvious that it's not really clotting at all. ]

[ So okay, is there like, an obvious poison status ailment here or something or is it just the bleeding? (Hilariously poison and bleeding are both ones Rideaux inflicts in canon.)

Either way, he's going to address the latter first since tbh he's not sure what they can even do about a possibly unknown poison with the shitty supplies here, and it won't matter anyway if he bleeds out, so. Thanks to Marcus's shirt for its sacrifice, now there's some proper gauze and bandages to help with the job. Please assume he knows what he's doing better than I'm writing it. ]

[ Corrosive dot says... it basically just looks like bleed to Rideaux. Kawase is bandaged and even though he's not grateful, I am that we both can write assume medical things because words are hard. ]

...well? [ It should also be noted that Kawase has really high pain tolerance so really he's somehow an OK patient with minimal fussing. ]

Well what? I'm keeping you from bleeding out for now. I don't see any blatant physical signs of any of the sorts of poisons that you'd typically find on a monster, but I also have limited information on exactly what you were dealing with.

[ Just going to keep applying pressure here for the moment while looking over the shallower injuries for whatever details he can get until they drag Florence out here. ]

[ Well he was hoping for worse news but he won't voice that considering there's an entire commotion over here now. Instead he grumbles and ignores the answer to his own question. ]

In his [ Tilts his head at wherever Chongyun is right now. ] dream, I guess? It was more like a lucid hallucination come to life. It wasn't anything like I've ever seen in Tokyo or Aizu.

[ As for other injuries, he's got some minor cuts on his arms and legs but they're pretty shallow and do seem to be clotting like they should. ]

I see. It's something he's familiar with, then? [ Well, at least it's not a complete unknown in that case. That should be useful. ] That's good to know. Though they really should have been more discerning with what otherworldly things were allowed to manifest here.

[ With a slight glance to the Land of Canaan looming in the sky... ]

In any case, someone went to request assistance from the higher-ups, so with any luck we'll be able to get you both to a proper medical facility shortly.

[ In the meantime, he'll monitor his pulse and breathing, keeping perfectly calm the whole time. His bedside manner may be pretty cold, but there's probably something to be said for how smoothly he handles these situations, at least. ]
