04 - week four

WEEK FOUR

Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.

You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.

However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.

That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.

Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.

Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

A lot of us've been getting things recently. Looks like some of 'em belong to people here. If ya found something recently and ya aren't sure who if it belongs to someone, ask.

If you're missing something important, you should say so now so we can keep an eye out for it.

I know a lot of it's real cool stuff but no one likes a thief! So ya better fess up before ya get in trouble.

[Good thing Madara came prepared! He has a small box containing a tiny nurse's hat, a white outfit he's sure someone's going to miss, and a rather fancy scarf!

These items belong to Luci, Ryouma, and Cater respectively! But he doesn't know that. He's just helping out.]

I've got these; feel free to let me know if they're yours! And I've got to give credit where it's due: Fai and Hien really helped me out last week. I ended up with my unit uniform and my bike back. Anybody seen any helmets, by the way?

Fai and I had something like a garage sale last week, but we still got some items to pass out. I still need some people to pick stuff up, so check it out. I really don't wanna lug it back to my room.

[ Garage sale redux!!

The items include the following: idol outfit (for Riku), last storm lance (Grimnir), cell phone with a cracked screen from 2009, picture book about a knight saving a princess from a tower (Owen?), Golden Raven Insignia (Bennett?), fake red glasses, and a shamrock charm. ]

Oh- that shamrock charm... ... Actually, would you like to keep it? I don't have my phone here, and... well. I think I'd like you to have it.

I made it as a test for something. It does mean quite a bit, but that's part of why I'd like you to keep it, actually.

Yes, to see if I could do something like that! I'm good at embroidery, of course, but embroidery and making a charm that looks good are very different, you know!

( she giggles like she's making a joke. )

[ And here he was, being concerned that he looked like an unhinged psycho in front of Shizuku because he went off to kill her doppelganger without a word.

He closes his eyes for a moment and reopens them. ]

How did you feel when you finished making it? Was it up to your standards?

I think for a first attempt, it's perfect.

( it's a simple thing- a plain, blue string that matches her image color, attached to a metal tip that holds the link for the shamrock charm. it's fairly sturdy, and maybe a little plain... but it really isn't bad. she's proud of it. and part of that pride is also a reason to give it to someone who she may not see again after all of this. )

I have a giant lizard-- I mean, dinosaur costume and some sweaters but I'm keepin' an eye out for my sword.

(HE HOLDS UP A VERY SKETCHY AND HIGHLY MEDIOCRE DRAWING OF A KATANA. It is straight and has a blue handle and some little details on it? Like a bandage wrapped around the sheath. He points at the center of the page and then points at himself,)

This is me. It's real important so I'd appreciate it if anyone found it and handed it over.

(HE DOES NOT THINK TO MENTION ANYTHING even though I know what else is in that gacha. He has #priorities.)

[Well, if they're sharing what they got from the gacha, Shin will just dump out the whole lot of it onto the table for whomever to take. This includes a shitty bass guitar, a small golden trumpet, the spirit-attraction flag, and the Fates on the Edge CD. We can also say that the sake cup and the pudding he got last week are here too for the hell of it.]

The Instructor confirmed the gun I had with me was confiscated and left in the shop. If you happen to find it, let me know.

[ Luci makes a run for his golden trumpet, rubbing the mouthpiece on his fur before giving it a little play. Right there on the pile of stuff.

After one successful scale, Luci full on launches into a song. It beats shopping center music, so why not browse gacha to jazz? At least he knows how to play it.

P.S. Good luck neighbors. He can play a trumpet even longer than his trombone. ]

[You live your best life Luci, he's on a different floor from you anyways!!

Anyways, it kind of figures it would belong to one of the cats(?) considering the size but who knows if anyone else here maybe had a hobby of collecting miniature brass instruments. He doesn't care if Luci keeps going on with the trumpet but if he's still standing on the pile of stuff, Shin is going to try and pick him up by the scruff of his neck so he can relocate him on a clear part of the table.]

[ He was definitely still on that pile. But Luci manages to keep playing as he is scruffed. Only... the tune reacts to what's happening. It's exactly the sort of jazzy cartoon refrain that one would expect from a skilled trumpet playing demon the size of a cat.

Luci waves with his tail. Its movement goes along with the end of his song. His final pose says ta-da. It took up air, that he is new to breathing. So his next pose is going to be lying down on this new, clear side of the table. ]

You gonna eat that?

[ An eye on the pudding. ]

[Luci such a pro at trumpeting...

Anyways, the lack of squirming or resistance certainly makes things easier, so Shin isn't going to complain about that. And as much as he may not personally care about the items left on the table, he's aware that they might be precious or sentimental to others so it's best to leave them as undamaged as possible. With that said, this pudding has been sitting around unrefrigerated for the past week or so (or longer??) and it's not like Shin's particularly keen on keeping it, so...]

You can have it if you want.

[ Luci slides over, plucking the pudding from the pile. It shouldn't kill anyone if it's been sealed this whole time, right?

Hope it doesn't smell, because he's totally going to open it right here to eat at the edge of the table. ]

[It's packaged (I think?!) and there shouldn't be any holes in it unless someone fucked around with it when he left it in the common room on week 2 but also not his problem anymore!!

Anyway, it's probably fine unless you want to roll for potential food poisoning or something. Live your best life, because the only thing Shin is going to do is glance over briefly as Luci opens it up. Does he even have a spoon or is he just going to go at it with his bare paws?]

[ Nope, it is all Luci's problem now. He sniffs it once before licking at it like a cat with milk for the first time. His whole body wiggles once at the taste before he greedily tries to scoop out and what what he can. Between his mouth and gravity as he tilts it back, it's pretty effective.

He'd prefer a spoon but whatever, he's hungry from all the trumpeting. ]

[And thus, the pudding was defeated.

Anyway, he's not going to help with a spoon or anything like that, but he will pull a clean handkerchief out of his pocket and toss it over in Luci's direction.]

Clean up after yourself when you're done.

[ Luci lets it fall, turning back towards him. ]

What're you gonna do, arrest me? Force me to go back to college?

[ Asked between useless licks against the mostly empty pudding container. It's more sarcastic than challenging. ]

[If the items Phantom got were any larger he absolutely would not have bothered! But he's dutifully brought a Cerberus Plush and a mysterious Laptop with him, and they're going on the table.]

If anyone finds further blueprints, I would appreciate if all of the pages were returned to me intact.

[And if no one claims the laptop it's going back with him, since it's the far more interesting of the two.]
