Oh, definitely! Shall we look for a comb?

[ He doesn't think patting her hair will be effective... ]

Oh, I think maybe we can find some at the store.

( she'll still need to swing into the bathroom to shake things out of her clothes, of course. or maybe her room. but she smiles at the offer nevertheless. )

Was it your team that won?

It was, yes. Which means that we were the ones who got everyone else with confetti.

[ He smiles a little. ]

You're more than welcome to get revenge on me now, if you'd like.

( shizuku glances at him like she's considering something........ and then reaches up and pulls at his cheeks gently, stretching them out for a moment with an almost uncharacteristically serious look on her face.

except she can't hold it out and lets go, laughing. )

It startled us, but that gray-haired man came in just as we were finishing. It wasn't too much at all, truthfully.

[ He's a little startled when she suddenly pulls on his cheeks, but he can't help but laugh with her when she lets go. ]

Ah, Owen? I imagine he had some fun with that...

[ Sabotaging other people might have lifted his bad mood. Maybe. ]

He was... interesting? I haven't met him yet, actually. But he looked like he was having fun.

( a pause. )

He seemed a little smug about it, actually...

That certainly sounds like him! He's an interesting guy.

[ And prone to making threats... although Fai doesn't know if Owen would threaten Shizuku. Probably not. ]

Hopefully next week, you'll have the chance to sabotage us.

If it is, let's keep our hopes up that it will continue to only be confetti.

Yes! Even if it's a bit annoying, it's wonderfully harmless.

( and, given that she intends on shaking everything in her clothes loose somewhere that isn't her responsibility, what harm is done isn't even her problem. anyways they were going to the store for a comb... as they cross the courtyard, shizuku glances past the buildings at the fog. )

An empty city, most likely. I would be surprised if it was full of life when this campus is so empty.

[ He lets out a soft sigh. ]

I do hope we’ll get to see beyond it sometime.

Yes... It's all very strange. ... But the company is nice.

It is! I think we have a good group here, one that should hopefully stick together in the event of difficult tasks.

I agree! And if it seems like we might not all work well together, we'll find a way somehow. It will work out.

People are stubborn, after all. And so inclined to fix things, on a level.

They sure are! Here's hoping we have some fixers in our midst.

[ Fai isn't too great at fixing things, but he can try at the very least. ]

Oh, we do. And caretakers. So I think it's going to be okay, ultimately.
